Doberman Pinscher

A German named, Louis Dobermann, is credited with developing the Doberman Pinscher breed in the late 1800a. He was a tax collector and wanted a fierce guard dog to accompany him on his rounds.

Dobermans are the only working dogs specifically bred for human companions and their master’s protection. They are generally kept as family dogs and protector of their masters home.

The Doberman Pinscher is highly intelligent, obedient and energetic. As a result, the Doberman needs a lot of exercise and stimulation. Perhaps contrary to their fierce reputation, as naturally protective dogs, Dobermans make loving family pets who are extremely loyal to their owners and family. They are playful canines that are easy to train and groom. Dobermans are working dogs that can weigh between 60-100 pounds and tend to live between 10-14 years.
